Cedar & Breath Stand steady. Breathe first.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

14 days on everything digital, no reason needed. This page explains exactly how to ask and what happens next.

Last updated October 27, 2026.

The headline

If you buy a digital product from Cedar & Breath and it is not right for you, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to ask for your money back. We do not ask why. We do not ask you to prove anything. We do not ask you to delete the file.

We would rather refund a reader cheerfully than keep money from someone who feels they wasted it, and the number of people who abuse this has never been high enough to be worth building defences against.

How to request a refund

  1. Email classes@cedarandbreath.info from the address you used to buy, or write from any address and tell us the one you used.
  2. Put "Refund" in the subject line.
  3. Tell us what you bought and roughly when. The order reference helps if you have it, but we can find it without one.

You can also use the contact form and choose the refund topic, or telephone (802) 555‑0156 during office hours (Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm Eastern Time).

What happens next

  • We acknowledge your request within one business day.
  • We submit the refund to the payment provider within two business days.
  • The money reaches your original payment method in 5 to 10 business days after that. The exact timing is set by your bank or card issuer, not by us.
  • Refunds always go back to the original payment method. We cannot send a refund to a different card, to a bank transfer, or as store credit.

If more than 14 business days have passed since we told you the refund was submitted and nothing has appeared, contact us and we will send you the provider's reference number so your bank can trace it.

What is covered

Refund window by item
Item Price Refund window
5-class pack $45.00 14 days from purchase
10-class pack $80.00 14 days from purchase
Single class $11.00 14 days from purchase

Live sessions: rescheduling, missed sessions and refunds

  • Rescheduling. Move your place to another session free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time, by email. There is no limit on how often.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice. The place is used. We can usually still move it if someone else can take the spot, so it is always worth asking.
  • Not turning up without telling us. The place is used.
  • If we cancel. Full refund, or a place in another session, whichever you prefer. Your choice, not ours.
  • Technical problems at our end that stop a session going ahead are treated exactly as a cancellation by us.
  • Technical problems at your end are not refundable, because we have held the place and run the session. We will always try to help you get connected first.

Unused credits in a pack. Packs expire 12 months from the date of purchase from the date of purchase. Within 14 days of buying a pack, if you have not used any of it, we refund it in full. After 14 days, or once any session has been attended, packs are not refundable, but unused credits can be transferred to another person — just tell us their name and email.

What is not covered

  • Requests made more than 14 days after purchase. We will still read your message and we do make exceptions where something has genuinely gone wrong at our end, but it is not automatic.
  • A file you bought twice by accident is refunded as a duplicate charge, not as a refund request, and there is no time limit on that at all. Just tell us.
  • Nothing else. There is no restocking fee, no partial refund, and no deduction for a file you have already downloaded.

If the problem is delivery rather than the product

If your file never arrived, you do not need a refund, you need the file. Check your spam or promotions folder first, then write to us with the email address you used at checkout and we will resend it by hand the same business day. See the Digital Delivery Policy.

Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge with your bank before contacting us, the payment provider freezes the transaction and we are usually unable to refund you directly until the dispute is resolved, which takes considerably longer than simply asking us. Please email us first. We have never refused a refund within the window.

Why the window is this long

A digital file cannot be returned in any meaningful sense — once you have it, you have it, and a refund means we have given you the thing and the money back. Plenty of sellers use that as a reason to refuse refunds on digital goods entirely, and the law in most states permits it as long as the no-refund policy is disclosed before purchase.

We take the other view. 14 days is long enough to actually open the file, read it properly and cook or practise from it once, which is the only way to find out whether it was what you wanted. A shorter window would mean refunding people who had not really looked, and a longer one would mean we never quite knew where we stood. This length has worked for us and we have not needed to tighten it.

If you bought the wrong thing

It happens, usually buying one season's cards when you meant another, or buying an item separately a day before deciding you wanted everything. Tell us within the window and we will either swap it for the thing you meant, refund the difference, or refund it outright — whichever leaves you where you intended to be. A swap is not a second purchase and we do not charge for one.

If you bought the same item twice by mistake, that is a duplicate charge rather than a refund request, and there is no time limit on it. Write whenever you notice and we will return the second charge.

Your statutory rights

This policy is in addition to whatever rights you have under the consumer protection law of your state, and nothing here limits them. Where your state gives you a stronger right than this page describes, the stronger right applies.
